The annual St. Luke’s Miners Hospital Black Diamond Garden Party is scheduled for this Saturday (May 31, 2014) from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Harry Packer & Asa Packer Mansions in historic Jim Thorpe.

The proceeds from this year’s event will be used to purchase patient beds that are designed to give extra support for patient entry and exit, as well as promote patient healing. The beds provide advanced options that make them a valuable tool in efficient patient care.
“Past Black Diamond events have helped create a medical scholarship fund, construct a new Heart & Vascular Center and Critical Care Unit, establish a new day room for our nursing home residents, develop a Cardiopulmonary Rehab Unit and has helped us move forward with plans for a new Surgical Suite. The event is truly a celebration with our community,” said Bill Moyer, President, St. Luke’s Miners Campus.
This year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, May 31, will be a business-casual Garden Party featuring food throughout stations in Kemmerer Park and the mansion lawns. Live, Irish, classical and contemporary music and other engaging surprises await those that attend. Tours are also available in the Asa Packer Mansion. The artist, Mrs. Gerri Gardiner will be at the Garden Party to share her inspiration of the painting and sign prints. The Garden Party costs $80 per person.
Diane Luicana, Black Diamond Community Chair shared “We are excited to have Peggy Sue O’Donnell as our Honorary Chairperson this year, we have a few surprises for her that everyone will enjoy!”
