For the second time in less than a week, Mahanoy Township police and Mahanoy City Police departments worked together to investigate and arrest multiple individuals on drug-related charges. Last night (May 23, 2014), four people went to jail on various drug-related charges following a traffic stop in the township.
Those arrested were William Rivera of Mahanoy City, Coty Long of Aristes, Daniel Bynon III of Mahanoy City and Timothy Mckerns of Mahanoy City.
The arrests stemmed from a traffic stop conducted by Officer TJ Rentschler in the township. Total items seized during the investigation were 52 bags of heroin, 14 bags of bath salts, marijuana, several items of drug paraphernalia and thousands of dollars of possible drug money.
The Mahanoy City Police Department’s Facebook page states that all four individuals were arraigned by on-call duty Magistrate Ferrier and committed to Schuylkill County prison on $10,000 straight bail.
