
Contractors, Rush Township workers and Hometown firefighters worked late into the night last Friday (May 16, 2014) to fix a blocked 12-inch sewer line under Cumberland Avenue.
On scene were Rush Township Sewer Department, Rush Township Road Department, Hometown firefighters, all three Rush Township Supervisors, Rush Township Engineer Bill McMullen and Biros Septic & Main Cleaning Inc.
Firefighters were used for bypass pumping.
Rush Township Supervisor Robert Leibensperger said they pumped about 25,000 gallons of water during the 5-hour repair.
Supervisors added that no services were interrupted.
Hometown Fire Police controlled traffic for the duration of the repair.
