Over 300 Olympians participated during the 2014 Schuylkill County Special Olympics Track and Field Meet held last week at the Pottsville Area High School’s Veterans Memorial Stadium. Athletes competed in multiple categories.
Program Manager Dan Zackus stated his appreciation to all the athletes, families, staff, volunteers and supporters. Zackus added that ten students from eleven school districts in Schuylkill County donate their time during the event.
“Without all the supporters, this event couldn’t be possible,” said Zackus, who added his appreciation to the Pottsville Area School District for the use of their stadium.
