Members of the Ryan Township Emergency and Rescue Squad purchased a new piece of equipment designed to preserve both morality and evidence.
Dive Team Captain Bill Wirtz said their new underwater body recovery system lets divers recover drowning victims without losing evidence or exposing the victim to bystanders or media.
David Truskowsky, Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner and member of the West End Fire and Rescue Dive Team in Mahanoy City, noted the system could be beneficial in situations where foul play is a possibility.
