What keeps people from getting involved? Lack of money? Lack of time?
I covered 10 events today in Tamaqua, Jim Thorpe, Nesquehoning, Tuscarora and Walker Township. Sadly, the attendance/support at ALL these functions was poor.
We have a population of about 30,000 in Tamaqua and surrounding communities. I’m guessing approximately 300 of those people routinely take the time to give back to their community in one way or another. When I’m out and about taking photos and such, it appears to be the same people donating their time at each of these events/organizations. Everyone else just watches or receives.
Everyone, please take that extra step and get involved – or least show some support. Share your time if you don’t have money. Pick an organization and simply offer to help. Don’t make excuses. Realize that you are needed. It only takes a few minutes to make a difference.
