TRUCK SNAPS POLE AFTER LOSING BRAKES IN TAMAQUA

Truck Snaps Pole after Losing Breaks on Cherry Street, Tamaqua, 5-10-2014 (4)The male driver of a pickup truck said failed brakes caused him to lose control of his truck and snap a utility pole on Cherry Street in Tamaqua just after 5:30 PM today (Saturday, May 10, 2014). He added that the pole prevented him from careening down a steep hillside at the bottom of Cherry Street. He eventually managed to stop his truck at the bottom of Spruce Street.
Responding were South Ward Fire Company, Citizens Fire Company, Tamaqua Police and Tamaqua Fire Police. No injuries were noted.
