STAYING ACTIVE AND HEALTHY VIA SILVER SNEAKERS IN TAMAQUA

Seniors are given the opportunity to take part in the Silver Sneakers program held at the Tamaqua YMCA.
“Silver Sneakers is an energizing program that helps older adults take greater control of their health by encouraging physical activity and offering social events,” said Nick Zigmant, executive director, Tamaqua YMCA. He added other benefits of the program include access to conditioning classes, exercise equipment, customized classes designed exclusively for older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and endurance, as well offer health education seminars and other events that promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
The group meets every Monday and Wednesday from 11 AM to 12 PM and every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 AM to 11 AM.
