A May 2, 2014 comment from a volunteer on Facebook reads:
“Mine tours tomorrow and Sunday!!!! Come and visit for a great time and a great experience!!! Be sure to tour our Museum, the former No.9 wash house, and the No.9 coal mine tunnel. Ride 1600 feet by rail into the oldest operating Anthracite coal mine in the world with a walking tour of 600 feet. See the orginal 950 foot deep mine shaft, veins of Anthracite coal, mule and gangways, and the orginal stone cut miner’s hospital!!!!! The train taking you in will be consisted of 1 of our 2 1941-built mine motors and mantrip cars salvaged from the B&M Mine in Western Schuylkill County. See you there!!! Thanks for your support, The Management at the No.9 Mine and Museum.”
