LINDA YULANAVAGE RECEIVES SENATE CITATION FOR GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR OUR VETERANS

Tom Banditelli Sr, Citizenship Winner, Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce, Fire Company, Hometown (76)Tamaqua Chamber of Director Linda Yulanavage received an award citation recently from Senator Dave Argall recently during the Chamber’s Annual Community Dinner held at the Hometown Fire Company.
The citation, presented by Argall, read:
“WHEREAS, The Senate of Pennsylvania takes great pleasure in recognizing those citizens who, through dedication and excellence, contribute in a meaningful way to the well-being of their communities and ultimately to all the people of this great Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Linda Yulanavage will be honored for creating the Tamaqua Veteran Banner Program by the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce during its annual dinner, which is being held on April 23, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Executive Director of the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce Mrs. Yulanavage has served as the borough’s Main Street Manager and as Secretary of the Tamaqua Historical Society. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army in Tamaqua. Mrs. Yulanavage discovered the Hometown Heroes Banner idea while attending a Pennsylvania Main Street Conference and implemented the Tamaqua Banner Veteran Program. Since that time, nearly one hundre banners depicting area veterans of the United State Armed Forces have been hung throughout the borough. To her great credit, Mrs. Yulanavage was named Citizen of the Year in 1990. Any definition of a full and productive life must include service to others. Through her many initiatives to benefit her community and by her personal example, Mrs. Yulanavage clearly reflects the true spirit and mission of this Commonwealth.
NOW THEREFORE, the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania congratulates Linda Yulanavage upon her richly deserved recognition; affirmatively states that she is a shining example of community spirit who many contributions are worthy of deep gratitude and respect.
