The Annual Carbon County Community Safety Day is scheduled for today (Saturday, May 3, 2014) from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Mauch Chunk Lake State Park in Jim Thorpe. The event is hosted by state Senator John Yudichak, Carbon County Commissioners, Carbon County Safe Kids and the Carbon Masonic Lodge No. 242.
The event will be held rain or shine at the swimming area of the park.
Opening ceremony will be held at 10:15 AM, with remarks by Senator Yudichak and commissioners. The ceremony will also involve a special presentation.
