“Tastes like bacon,” said Tamaqua National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) member Dair Miller, 14, after tasting homemade bacon doggie biscuits he helped create with other volunteers today (Monday, April 28, 2014) at the Tamaqua Salvation Army.
“The cooking project was done in preparation for a combined Older & Bolder and Youth Group activity on Wednesday,” said Dina Depos, Programs Director for the Tamaqua Salvation Army.
“It is pretty affordable,” said Depos. “All the ingredients actually cost less than the dog-bone shaped cutters used to make them.”
Depos added her appreciation to Miller, who is volunteering as part of the NJHS.
All the biscuits will be donated to a local SPCA.
