Tom Banditelli Sr., 5-year chairman of the derby, stated his appreciation to all the volunteers, sponsors and supporters of the event. Volunteers added that just over a 100 people signed up for the derby.
Pictured below are photos taken during the first day of the derby (Saturday, April 19, 2014). During the derby, prizes will be awarded for tagged fish.
300 fish were stocked at various locations in and around Tamaqua at the start of the derby.
The last day to register was April 19. The derby runs until June 14, 2014.
