Pictured making room for hundreds of donated used/clean blankets, pillows, sheets and bed skirts are Tamaqua Volunteers Eric Becker and Dave Fahringer. These items will be available for anyone to receive tomorrow (Saturday, April 26, 2014) during the group’s community giveaway planned for 9:5 AM.
Anyone, no matter where you live, will be able to receive these bedding items during the giveaway Saturday morning at the M & M Self Storage facility (next to Schickram’s Car Wash in Tamaqua).
Comfort Inn in West Hazleton recently donated these clean bedding items to the Tamaqua Salvation Army. The very large donation includes bedding from 119 rooms.
Members of the Tamaqua Volunteers rented a 26-foot rented box truck to transport all the items to Tamaqua in preparation for the giveaway. Cheryl Leone and family, of West Penn, donated $100 towards the rental truck.
All the other items at the giveaway are for residents with a 18252 zip code only.
Volunteers are asking anyone to drop-off any donation between 8 AM and 9 AM Saturday.
