National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is scheduled for this Saturday (April 26, 2014) from 10 AM to 2 PM at a number of local drop-off locations throughout our area. The day is aimed at providing a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
Below are a few local drop-off locations:
– Tamaqua Borough Hall, 320 East Broad Street, Tamaqua.
– McAdoo Police Department, 29 N. Hancock Street, McAdoo.
– Mahanoy City Police Department, 239 East Pine Street, Mahanoy City.
– Summit Hill Police Department, 40 West Amidon Street, Summit Hill.
– Penn. State Police Barracks – Troop L, 23 Meadowbrook Drive, Schuylkill Haven.
– Orwigsburg Police Department, 209 North Warren Street, Orwigsburg.
– Pottsville School District – Tide Task Forces, 1501 Laurel Boulevard, Pottsville.
“Since our first national prescription drug take-back day three years ago, you’ve helped us keep more than 1,700 tons of unneeded or expired medications off our streets,” said Michele LeonHart, Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
