Tamaqua High School 8th grader Aaron Delpais, 14, competed in the National Geographic Society’s 2014 Pennsylvania State Geographic Bee held at the State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg on April 4, 2014.
Aaron is the son of Paul and Amy Delpais of Tamaqua.
This was the second level of the competition, which is now in it’s 26th year. Bees were held in schools with fourth through eighth grade students throughout the state to determine each school’s Bee winner. School-level winners then took a qualifying test, which they submitted to the National Geographic Society. The National Geographic Society invited the student with the top 100 scores in each of 50 states, District of Columbia, Department of Defense Dependents School and U.S. territories at the state level.
National level Bee will be May 19 to 21, 2014.
