WOMAN AIRLIFTED AFTER CRASHING INTO POLE SUNDAY NIGHT IN RUSH TOWNSHIP

A 34-year old woman was airlifted to a trauma center after crashing her van into a utility pole in Rush Township around 8:30 PM Sunday (April 6, 2014).
Rush Township Police Sergeant Duane Frederick reported that Amy Peel, Mahanoy City, was traveling west on Fairview Street when she struck a utility pole at the intersection of Fairview Street and Bernhard Road. He added that Peel was flown to a trauma center for her injuries. Her 2002 Chevrolet van was towed from the scene.
Responding were Rush Township, Police, Ryan Township Fire Company, Hometown Fire Company, Quakake Fire Company and others.
Her condition is unknown as of Monday night.
