An unusually harsh winter is proving brutal for many roadways throughout our area. Pictured is a deep pothole that formed today (Sunday, March 30, 2014) on West Mauch Chunk Street in Tamaqua. Colder temperatures and precipitation are making it harder for municipalities to perform permanent pothole repairs; which require both dry and above-freezing temperatures.
