The “burning wood” smell everyone is talking about this morning (Friday, March 28, 2014) is from a controlled burn located along Sewer Plant Road between the Tamaqua Sewage Plant and Tamaqua Transfer Station. The borough is burning brush. They estimate the burn to be completed by around 1 PM or so.
