ST. JEROME SCHOOL HOLDS SCIENCE TECH WEEK

The St. Jerome Regional School (SJRS) in Tamaqua held their annual Science Tech Week last week at their school.
“Science and technology are important subjects in the field of education,” said Principal Maryann Mansell. “At SJRS we choose a week every March to celebrate Science/technology in our school and in our community. Special events and speakers are planned. The students make special projects this month to show their skills in these areas.”
Activities throughout the week included a recycling program via SKIP by Robert Stablum, tree and animal presentation by Brian Price, computer class open house for parents, Air Products demonstration, science and chemistry lessons presented by Mr. Bob Valent –  teacher at Marian High School, anatomy and science classes presented by Dr. Jamie Mansell – professor at Temple University, ( – Teeth, Gr. 1 & 2 –  Bones, Gr. 3 Healthy Habits, Gr. 4 – Digestive System, Gr. 5 – Circulatory/Heart, Gr. 6- Muscles, Gr. 7 – Genetics, Gr. 8 – The Brain/Concussion) and so on.
