Members of the League of Literaries (LOL) held their 2nd Annual Showcase on Sunday (March 23, 2014) at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center.
During the event, 20 plus LOL members presented their original works as they vied for your vote in the form of a small donation.
The original youth works ranging from short poems to short stories to full length novels.
In addition, visitors were given a chance to know the authors of the future before you have to buy their books off the shelves.
The group meets every Tuesday from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center.
LOL, founded in 2012, is a group of young writers, middle and high school ages.
“We have existed for over a year now and hope to continue to grow,” said President Jake Wenzel. “”We read and write most of the time. We plan special events some of the time. But, we have fun all of the time.”
Wenzel said he assisted by co-instructor Jacob Gursky and secretary/events coordinator Krissy Gilbert.
Wenzel added that the group has student representatives in most of the surrounding school districts.
