TAMAQUA DRAMA CLUB TO PRESENT “HONK” FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

Practice for The Honk, Tamaqua Drama Club, Middle, High School, Tamaqua, 3-18-2014 (1)Members of the Tamaqua Middle School and High School Drama Club are presenting their comedy remake of “The Ugly Duckling” called “Honk” this Friday (March, 21, 2014) and Saturday (March 22, 2014) at the Tamaqua Area School District Auditorium. Doors open at 6 PM with the shows starting at 7 PM.
Tamaqua Drama Club Director and English teacher Adriane Drum said over 70 students from grades 7 to 12 are involved; to include performers, stage crews, band and so on. The Assistant Director  and choreographer is Erika Cassell.
Both Drum and Cassell state their continued appreciation to a number of dedicated helpers. Some mentioned were Laura Makuta – who did costumes and makeup, Mark Beltz – who directs the music and orchestra, Kim Woodward’s middle school art class and their parents – who helped with the set design, student Jillian Franko – who organized the graphic design work.
Cost for the show is $8 per student and $10 for adults.
Students said that items will be for sale before each show, such as pins and t-shirts. They added that there will also be games in lobby for kids to play for a quarter a play. Games include: fishing game. lollipop tree, frog bean bag toss and duck pond. In addition, two game tickets will be given for every child ticket purchased.
