Tamaqua Community Arts Center volunteer Marie Stoves, Lansford, found a new pastime after discovering a square-shaped weaving-style loom while cleaning inside the center.
The handheld craft was labeled Kumihimo.
Wikipedia defines the craft as a Japanese form of braid-making, involving cords and ribbons made by interlacing strands. It adds that “Kumi himo is Japanese for “gathered threads.”
