1,208 CUSTOMERS WERE WITHOUT POWER IN CARBON COUNTY

UPDATE: As of 8:30 AM Thursday, all but 213 PPL customers were still without power in Carbon County. 151 of which are in Kidder Township and 50 are in East Penn Township.
As of 2:30 AM today (Thursday, March 13, 2014), over 1,200 PPL customers were without power in Carbon County – according to PPL’s online outage map. Of that, 1,039 customers are from Mahoning Township, 131 customers were from Kidder Township, and a few others from East Penn, Lower Towamensing and Penn Forest Townships.
In addition, power was knocked out to 200 customers around 9:30 PM last night in West Penn Township. As of 2:30 AM this morning, all but 67 customers were restored.

PPL’s online outage map states 4,996 customers without power as of 2:30 AM today.

There is no official word on when power is expected to be restored for West Penn Township or Mahoning Township.
Winds will lessen slightly into morning, although winds above 22 MPH will remain most of the day Thursday.
