An internet safety program, titled “Operation Safe Surf” is being held today (Thursday, March 6, 2014) at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center.
What you need to know about social networking and Internet safety in a rapidly changing world. This program, which starts at 6:30 PM, is designed to help educate and stress the importance of children being safe online. Children are being targeted by predators at an alarming rate so it is critical for us to learn how to protect our children and ourselves online.Due to the content of this presentation, students sixth grade and under are not permitted to attend. For children younger than sixth-grade, volunteers will have cupcake decorating pottery and kids crafts activities available, for a $10 donation, while older children and adults attend. Presenting the program will be Janene M. Holter, from the PA Attorney General’s office education outreach program.
The program is being sponsored by the Tamaqua Safety initiative and Green Dot Program. Call Leona at (570) 668-1192 for more information and to register.
