Kindergarten registrations for the Tamaqua Area School District’s 2014-2015 school year will be held April 7th to 9th, 2014 at the Rush Elementary School, and April 10th at the West Penn Elementary School.
Registration packets will be available before March 3, at all three of the district’s elementary facilities. Forms are also available at the district’s website: http://www.tamaqua.k12.pa.us/.
Appointments may be made by calling (570) 668-3306, beginning March 3, between the hours of 9:30-11:30 AM and 1-3 PM.
Children who will be age 5 on or before September 1, 2014 are eligible for kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year.
At registration, each child will be evaluated by a classroom teacher, a nurse, and a speech therapist.
Items to bring to registration:
– Proof of residency (tax receipts or rent receipts).
– Your child’s health and immunization records.
– Your child’s original birth certificate.
– Completed registration packet.
Parents/guardians are advised to bring necessary immunization records to the registration appointment. Proof of immunizations must be provided before a child will be admitted to school. State law requires that all children entering school for the first time must have written proof of the following immunizations: four doses of Tetanus; four doses of diphtheria; three doses of polio; two doses of measles; two doses of mumps; one dose of rubella (German measles); three doses of Hepatitis B; and two doses of varicella (chicken pox) or a record of having chicken pox.
