$5,000 RAISED DURING JUMP ROPE FOR HEARTS EVENT AT WEST PENN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Students, PTO, family and staff of West Penn Elementary School raised $5,000 during their Annual Jump Rope For Hearts event held yesterday (Friday, Feb. 28,2014) at the school to benefit the American Heart Association.
Throughout the day, students were given the opportunity to take part in exercise stations designed to build a healthy heart. The event concluded with teachers, a West Penn Police officer, and school staff being slimed or hit in the face with a pie.
Tim Gombar, who served as the event MC and coordinator, said they beat their goal of $1,500.
“Everyone had a lot fun,” said teacher Michele Bittner.
