A male and female were found with gunshot wounds following an incident that occurred shortly after 10:30 PM in Lansford tonight (Saturday, February 22, 2014).
Both victims were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital – Miners Campus in Coaldale. Unofficial information states that one or both of the victims were later flown to a Lehigh Valley trauma center.
As of 11:45 PM, Lansford Police remained converged at 439 West Patterson Street (US209) in the borough. It was later reported that four children under the age of 12 were in the home at the time of the shooting.
A helicopter was also seen hovering over the area, although it was unknown if it was a State Police helicopter.
Police from Coaldale, Nesquehoning, Summit Hill and Tamaqua also responded.
