Ten minutes on Facebook is all that was needed for strangers to come to the aid of a local family living in a cold home tonight.
A friend of a Tamaqua family called me to ask if I could drive this family to her house because the family’s home was without heat for 3 days. She added that the family’s furnace was acting up and wouldn’t be fixed until sometime Friday or Saturday.
I figured if the family had heaters, they could stay in their home.
After a quick post on Facebook, I got a kind response of people willing to lend or donate heaters.
