The Tamaqua Borough announced that Responsible Recycling Services LLC, (RRS), an electronics recycling company in Kutztown, will be collecting computers, televisions, appliances and office equipment in Tamaqua on Thursday, February 6, 2014.
This is an opportunity for residents to have their computers and flat screen and LCD televisions collected free of charge.
Below is a flyer and form that residents may use to schedule their pickup. Please note that this recycling company does charge to pickup certain items such as CRT (tube) televisions.
Certain electronic devices must be recycled. The Covered Device Recycling Act (CDRA) prohibits individuals from throwing away certain electronics with their garbage including computers, monitors, laptops and televisions. The law also prohibits landfills and waste disposal facilities from accepting these devices.
All items must be packed together in one area on ground level.
