Tamaqua Area School District will hold kindergarten registration for the 2014-2015 school year April 7 – 9 at the Rush Elementary School, and April 10 at the West Penn Elementary School.
Starting March 3, 2014, appointments can be made by calling (570) 668-3306, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 1 PM to 3 PM.
Registration packets will be available before March 3, at all three elementary schools. Forms are also available at the district’s website: http://www.tamaqua.k12.pa.us/.
Children who will be age 5 on or before September 1 are eligible for kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year.
Parents/guardians are advised to bring necessary immunization records to the registration appointment. Proof of immunizations must be provided before a child can to school.
State law requires that all children entering school for the first time must have written proof of the following immunizations: four doses of Tetanus; four doses of Diphtheria; three doses of Polio; two doses of Measles; two doses of Mumps; one dose of Rubella (German measles); three doses of Hepatitis B; and two doses of Varicella (Chicken Pox) or a record of having Chicken Pox.
Students will be evaluated by a classroom teacher, a nurse and a speech therapist at the time of the registration appointment.
