Beginner and novice painters expressed their inner talent during the Tamaqua Community Art Center’s weekly Paint and Sip held yesterday (Jan. 22, 2014) at the center. The theme of their oil paintings revolved around an Expresso Café sign. Despite looking similar, each art work varies differently in style and form.
“The event serves as a fun night out painting, sipping and laughing with your friends,” said center coordinator Leona Rega. She said that no painting or artistic experience is necessary to attend the events.
The events last from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM on the days it is scheduled. Event cost is around $40, which includes all materials. Organizers say that all you have to bring is your favorite beverage, lots of smiles and laughs.
Leona added that in addition to the four Paint and Sip events, they also have a Paint and Laugh event once a month for kids. The classes are instructed by Phillip Krivenko.
For more information or to reserve a spot, call (570) 668-1192 or email Rega at leona@tacp.info. “The events are designed for you to be a one night wonder,” added Rega. “Your work will be ready to hang on your wall when you leave.”
