LEAGUE OF MERCY
Our Tamaqua Salvation Army's League of Mercy visited patients at the Gnaden Huetten Nursing and Convalescent Center in Lehighton. They also passed out combs, brushes, literature, and other hygiene items to all the patients. The League of Mercy is a Salvation Army volunteer based annual visitation program that connects volunteers and Salvation Army officers and soldiers to those with special needs in hospitals, nursing homes, and correctional facilities. The Tamaqua Salvation Army annually visits nursing homes throughout our area once or twice a week starting in February and ending in late March. Anyone willing to participate and help show some community cheer is welcome to call the Tamaqua Salvation Army at (570) 668-0410.
