A Tamaqua woman was injured after being struck by a minivan this morning (Friday, April 10, 2015) at the Five Points intersection (US209/SR309) in Tamaqua. Jeannie Marie Novack, 60, Tamaqua, was crossing North Railroad Street, when she was struck by a minivan traveling the wrong way. The driver of the van was Lillian Rivera of Lil Wolf Drive in Orefield. She did not have a license.
Around 7 AM today, Tamaqua Police could be seen directing traffic along North Railroad Street (US309) at the intersection. Tamaqua Ambulance and Lehighton Ambulance were on seen as well.
Hope’s Towing was observed towing away a dark green Dodge Grand Caravan, which was facing the wrong way on North Railroad Street.
Novack was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital-Miners Campus in Coaldale. The extent of her injuries is unknown.
