UPDATE:
TamaquaArea.com just heard that traffic near the tractor-trailer is slowly going through. Traffic flow should be back to normal by around 1:30 PM.
As of 11:15 AM today (Wednesday, March 4, 2015), both lanes of SR309 on the Blue Mountain are closed due to a disabled wide load tractor-trailer on the mountain. A backhoe and other heavy equipment were called to the scene.
Vera Blasko, a driver on southbound side, said she and a long line of vehicles behind her have not moved for over an hour and a half.
Driver Dawn Benner said on scene told her that hydraulics on the disabled tractor-trailer are broken.
West Penn Fire Police, Tamaqua Fire Police and others were called to assist State Police at the top of the mountain, near the Blue Mountain Summit Restaurant, and at the intersection of SR895 in Snyders for traffic control.
